Computers 1: Week of 11/29/2010
- The 3 (Making Friends, Electronic Explosion, and Choose 1 of 3 on page PP 1.78) PowerPoints from before Thanksgiving are now past due.
- Due This week, adding animation and using Google Docs Presentation Software:
1) Spring Break (pages PP 2.04-2.53)
- Put YOUR NAME in place of the "Sponsored By"
2) Roadside Breakdowns (pages pp 2.61-2.63)
- Put YOUR NAME in place of the "Presented By"
- Current Tech Article Summary Presentations will be Friday, December 3. All news must be put into your words and originally created in Google Docs.

Computers 1 - Week of 11/15
1) PowerPoint Project 1 (Save as Making Friends) from book. Due 11/16
2) Test Grade: PP 1.72- PP 1.74, (Save as Electronics Explosion)

3) All students must choose 1 PowerPoint word problem from Page PP 1.78. Read the scenario and create a PowerPoint based on it. Save as PP 1.78.

3) On your own blog, post a new entry about how YOU specifically can use Google Reader for your courses, personally, and any other ways that will benifit you and make your web surfing easier
4) Create a new folder in Google Reader for this class and make sure you have all 12 blogs (including mine) in it
5) Don't forget your weekly tech blog postings, include a video! image! Record yourself and post it! be creative!

Using Templates including Resumes & Cover Letters
1) Visit this website and use the Job Search Tool to find and locate a job that interests you.
2) Use the resume wizard to create a resume (your choice of style) that include your own personal information and the custom fields. I understand that you want not have a lot of content to put on but try and be creative.
3) Then create a cover letter for the job to market yourself. Include a bullet point list somewhere in the middle of it stressing your qualifications for the position.
a. Include the address block of where you are applying to
b. Make sure you mention to the prospective employer where you learned about the job
c. Don’t forget to use the proper setup for the letter including the date at 3.5 inches.
d. Create a unique letterhead
The resume can be on 1 page and the cover letter on the next page. Save the file as YOURLASTNAME_JOB and upload it the Word Folder in Google Docs. Complete over break, due before class on 11/8.
