Web 2.0: Finding a Web 2.0 Tool...In Class Assignment May 29

As we have been discussing, there are numerous Web 2.0 tools out there. Examples are: Google Docs, Blogs, Diigo, Wallwisher, Voki, Blabberize, Glogster, Live Binders and many many more!

Your task is to research Web 2.0 tools and how you would utilize the tool in specific academic content area. You can not choose Google Docs, Blogger, or Voki.

Here are 3 sites to begin your research:
Create a New Post on Your Blog with:
1) The Web 2.0 Tool, Subject & Teacher you will use it for
2) How you will use it specifically
3) How it will help you to learn the content/lesson/unit, and any other information you want to include.

You may have to use the tool 1st in order to decide if it's a good fit for you. I will know if you haven't and I will know if you copy and paste.

Web 2.0: All About Jing & Blog Tour Assignment

"Jing is a screencasting software launched in 2007 as Jing Project by the TechSmith Corporation. It is currently in version 2.1.9181 and is free to download and use. The software takes a picture or video of the user's computer screen and uploads it to the Web, FTP, computer or clipboard. A URL is automatically created and can be shared with others to view or access the uploaded file. Jing is compatible with Macintosh and Windows. Its simple format and the ability to upload screencasts in SWF format for viewing at screencast.com has made it useful for virtual reference in libraries."

If Jing is not installed on the laptop you are using, go to the Jing website and download the free Jing software. Install this software on your computer. You may also want to use your own computer for the final project so you can download it there too.

The Jing website provides a great deal of help in getting started. Here is a good overview of Jing.

Here are several YouTube videos about using Jing:

Please view all the instructions on the Jing website - and then contact Mr. Porfido if you still have questions about getting started.
