The benefit of using Wikis in a classroom environment is that they are a useful tool to get students more involved. Also they encourage participation and interaction within the students. We can create Wikis in class for exam reviews, student portfolios, vocabulary lists, and group authoring. I have experience searching things on Wikipedia and I have never created a wiki.

There are many benefits of using wiki in the classroom. Students will be able to interact with one another if if they are not in the same class or even in the same school. This will allow students to help one another out. It would be a good thing to have in this class because if you know how to do something we learned then you can post it and help other kids that don't know what they are doing. I have never used wiki and i am excited to learn how to use it.

Using wiki in the classroom is a newer advanced way to teach, explore, and interact over the internet's unlimited source of knowledge. Wiki in the classroom can cover many topics and even go on virtual trips, post grades,to creating and passing a legislative bill.

Wikis are a good way to get students involved with school activities. They can be used for virtual field trips, to create presentations, as a class encyclopedia and much more. Students can use them to study for exams help their friends study and even share their notes.
An easy way to create a wiki is to go to http://www.wikispaces.com/ and create your own page from there. You have a choice of making a page for a business or an individual page for free.
If we want to create a wiki in class each student would go to the website above and create a free personal page. We each can use our own page to relay information such as homework or text book pages.
I personally have no experience in making a wiki. from what it seems it looks easy such as making a blog.

the benfit of using wiki is so the students can get more involved. Students can develop critical thinking skills by critiquing other students’ information and learning how to defend their views when critiqued by other students.

it can help us out with the class and if we need to get research thats what its good for

i have no experience using the creating of wikis.

Wikipedia is a free web-based, collaborative encyclopedia. Its the internet's most popular reference site.

Wikis allow many people to access information posted by others. It allows people to make free web-pages to post information for others.

We could create a wiki page for each class posting the lessons and information necessary for each student.

I have never created a wiki but look forward to it.

A befit of wiki is using Organize ideas: Allow group members to post their ideas in a wiki, and you’ll cut down on duplicate ideas, while at the same time allowing them to build upon the ideas.

we can create a wiki in class for school projects and school stuff

A benefit of using wikis in a classroom is that its a useful tool to get students more involved. It encourages participation. It lets kids help out others from a distance. It will eliminate having to repeat things cause everyone will be able to see it. We can create it for many things like homework, study guides, and projects. It helps kids make up work when there absent or sick. I used wiki websites to get help with things but i have never created one.

The benefits of using wiki are to share information neatly. Its perfect to groups because everyone is able to contribute and its almost like g mail.

We can create one by going to the website and starting one. we can use it in class for projects and such and each person will be able to share their ideas and edit it without having to meet.

I don't personally have any experience using wiki but i look forward to using it.

A class can use a wiki in a variety of ways. For example, they can use a wiki to coordinate a field trip or as a study guide for students to learn from. The benefits of using a wiki is that it organizes information, and allows anyone with knowledge of the subject to participate. We can create one in class to work on a project together. My experience with using wikis was last year when we made a wikispace to analyze a book.

You can use Wiki to Create a calendar that will encourage students to add their own important dates. Not only will you NEVER forget the next up-coming event, but the calender is very beneficiary.
I dont really have any experience using wiki, but as Holly said, I am looking foward to using it as well.

There are a few benefits of using a wiki. It decreases the need to use email. Students can easily use the wiki to collaborate instead of having to email each other which would take time. On a wiki, students can easily update the page and it will be there instantly. It can be used in this class to collaborate with other students on a project. Students who cannot meet up outside of school can utilize wiki to work together. I have some experience using a wiki. Last year in my English class, we had a class wiki where we would discuss questions about novels we were reading.

Wiki's are good for students to interact even if they're not in the same class or school. This is used for a neater way to collaborate.

We can use wiki for a group project with students in other classes and would be perfect for a big group with 4 or more people in it working on it together.

I do not have any experience in using Wiki because I've never heard of it, but it sounds useful and I look forward to using it.

There are many benefits of using a wiki. By using a Wiki, it is easier to collaborate with other people over the internet. People can visit a wiki at any time and edit it. If you create a wiki in class, it's easier to get all of your students involved and present collaborative projects that the students can edit right then and there. I've never created a wiki, but I have used things like Wikipedia and WikiAnswers.

-A class wiki can be used in class discussions and to help share.
-It can also be used for collaborating in projects.
-Benefits would be being able to collaborate easier, and organizing information in a much simpler way.
-It could possibly be used in this class for projects or sharing information about topics.
-I've never made a wiki before, but I've seen my brother make one.

-You can use wiki in education by creating a calender. Creating a calender can get many students involved to see what they may be doing in class and what is due. Its a good way to help students stay on top of their work.
-The benefits of using wiki are that it helps you research anything. It helps people stay on top of work and even activities.
-If we create a wiki we can find out about your work we are going to be doing in class and even find out if we missed work or need any catching up to do.
-I have never created a wiki but i have used it for research.

The benefits if using Wiki are instant information. Instead of sending emails, Wiki allows users to collaborate their ideas or any trip they might be planning in the future. If there is incorrect information, then the Wiki moderators will change to info back to its correct form. It can also get students more involved with Wiki. Lastly, Wiki can encourage participation and make it easier to do tasks.

In class, we can utilize Wiki for information and make it easier to do the assignments. Also, instead of sending twenty emails to everyone; Wiki reduces or eliminates the emails. Lastly, Wiki will allow students to interact with each other easier by sharing one item. So, Wiki is Google Docs, but easier.

I don't ave a Wiki, but if I did I would probably say it is easier to see information in the web.

1. Wiki's can be used in education because they are a great tool with lots of information. They can be used as: study guides, readers guides, and to collect and use information.

2. Wiki's are beneficial because it gets students more involved and kinda encourages participation; students who've never used it before find new things.

3. We can use it in this class as an assignment or an exam or something of the like. We can use it in other classes to coordinate what we're going to do on a project and make study guides.

4. I use Wikipedia to find summaries about movies or books or to get a basic information about musicians but I've never made one.

-Using wikis can be extremely helpful in the classroom.
-Wikis make it easy to make a simple website that can be authored by a group.
-Wikis help everyone stay on the same page in a simpler way.
-Wikis can be used instead of google docs for some in class projects because it can be difficult to edit things on google docs.
-Wikis can also help kids find different sources and help achers track them.
- I have viewed different wikis on wikipedia but i have not created any before.

1.I think that wiki is a great insight into getting students involved in curriculum. We should utilize its aspects to extend our educational values.
2. I think we can utilize a wiki for group projects. Its a well organized website and helps all students with interaction without being together, when working on assignments.
3.I just realized the significance of a wiki and have not got the opportunity to utilize it progressively in school.

-A wiki can be used in class to do almost anything. It is a good way to get more people involved in lessons. you can go on virtual field trips, it can be used for presentations and it can be used to study for difficult tests together with friends and other classmates without actually physically meeting them.
-There are many benefits to creating a wiki. You can use them to organize information that is available to everyone and allows anyone to add things and correct things that may have changed or are incorrect. The benefits of a wiki is that anyone can add to one so you can acquire information from many different sources.
-It can be created by going to a website such as wikispaces.com. we can use it to share information that could change. This is useful because if it does change any of us can simply edit it and update it.
-I have never created a wiki because i have never needed to. I believe that it will not be complicated and that it will be similar to making a blog.

• A wiki can be a useful source for a review the night before the exam however some might consider a chat or a forum to be equivalently useful.
•It is one of the ways through which people can collaborate and share their ideas with each other without the need for all of them to be together at the same time or have the information scattered throughout emails.
• We can go to a website such wikispaces and create it through there and we can utilize by having assignments and completing them on there.
• I have a very limited experience with creating and utilizing wikis, I know how they work but I have never had the need to use them in such a manner.

1.) The benefits of using a wiki is that it is more organized than using email to work on a project. Also, you can update the project by just using one document instead of sending a new document after another. This is a faster and more efficient way for working on projects assigned during class.

2.) We can create one in this class by everyone making an account on wiki. Then, Mr.Porfido can assign us projects and homework with other people from other classes that we can pull up on any one person's in that group's wiki account.

3.) I don't have any experience using or creating a wiki account. Although, I have been to the wiki sites many times for school projects, homework, and tests.

I could adapt a wiki to my AP English Class. We could use it for student interactions on the books we read, such as book talks and comments, to review and help each other understand the analysis and concepts.

The benefits of wiki are that it is easy accessible to a group of people. Also it is a good organizer and way to get information from friends and others.

We can create a wiki to work with the people in other classes. We can create agendas and reminders on whats due.

I have no experience with creating wikis
